LVI Continuing Education

Committed to providing men and women in our area with the most effective dental treatments available today, Dr. Schmid has continued to attend LVI courses, deepening his knowledge and expanding his understanding of the dental sciences.

Most recently, Dr. Schmid completed the Practical Advanced TMD Practice: Level 1 course, a three-day intensive that delves into:

  • Comprehensive TMJ evaluation
  • Head and neck radiographic evaluation
  • The relationship between TMJ and obstructive sleep apnea

This course has added to Dr. Schmid’s already deep knowledge of neuromuscular dentistry and provided him additional resources for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of restorative dentistry cases, enabling him to produce both highly functional and aesthetically pleasing results.

LVI Fellowship Status

In addition, the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI Global) awarded Dr. Schmid the designation of Fellow. The LVI Fellow distinction is given when a dentist has completed LVI’s Core Series, demonstrating that they have mastered the clinical knowledge, principles, and skills necessary to provide comprehensive cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry treatment.

The Fellow distinction is only awarded to dentists who have successfully completed a comprehensive exam covering all of the skills and techniques taught in the LVI Core Series (Core I – Core VII), which includes a minimum of 278 continuing education hours of training in advanced dental aesthetics and neuromuscular science.

At our comfortable Austin location, Dr. Schmid draws on his LVI training to offer the most effective TMJ treatments and restore optimal comfort and function for each of our patients.
