Veneers are an excellent way to improve your smile. These thin pieces of porcelain can conceal many different cosmetic concerns, including discoloration, misalignment, and damage.
Not all of your teeth will need porcelain veneers in order to achieve great results. The right approach will depend on your needs and budget.
How Many Veneers Should You Get?
Only one veneer is needed to correct a tooth that has been chipped, cracked, or turned gray due to trauma. However, if you’re looking to upgrade your entire smile, start by considering veneers for six or eight of your upper front teeth.
These teeth are the ones that are most noticeable when you talk and smile. Improving their appearance with veneers can make a big difference. It’s no surprise that the top front teeth are most commonly chosen for veneer placement.
When it comes to the teeth in the back on your mouth, you may not need veneers at all. There are several reasons for this. To start, your molars are not very visible. Enhancing them may not have a significant impact on the look of your smile.
On top of that, your back teeth are subject to higher chewing forces than your front teeth. Veneers placed in the back of the mouth may have an increased risk of getting chipped or coming off.
It’s also worth noting that an even number of veneers is best. Placing an even number of veneers often creates the most symmetrical and natural results. Because of this, you may be advised to get two, four, six, eight, ten, or twelve restorations.
