About Dr.Schmid:
A lot of dentists try to be everything to everyone. I've been there and done that. After 8 years in a high-volume, insurance driven dental office, I knew that it was time to develop the kind of practice I could believe in and that would genuinely serve my patients well. When I opened Contemporary Cosmetic Dentistry in 2001, it was a commitment to patient-centered, comprehensive care that has patients looking and feeling their best. |
Staying on the cutting edge of the dental industry is important to me. In addition to a Doctorate in Dental Science from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental Branch in San Antonio, I am also a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. My training has included: Advanced Anterior Aesthetics, Comprehensive Aesthetic Reconstruction, Neuromuscular Occlusion, Full Mouth Reconstruction and Neuromuscular Coronoplasty.
I've been happily married to my wife, Misty, for 14 years. She has the wondrous job of staying home with our two beautiful daughters, Lola (4) and Molly (8).
Between my practice and keeping up with three beautiful women in my life, my wife...and daughters..., I stay pretty busy. Yet, for those who know about the spirit of Austin, it demands more. Volunteering at The Manos de Cristo Dental Clinic, currently the only low-fee, full-service dental clinic in Austin, enables me to serve the working poor in Austin who are caught in the gap between the poverty line and the actual cost of living.
When I do have time for myself, I enjoy running on town lake or riding motorcycles, especially Ducati's.
